We’ll have water balloons, music, ice cream, tie-dye, wildflowers, raffles, and more 🎊 We will also be electing our new neighborhood Board and recognizing community members for their service. We would love to see you there 🌞

Thanks for everyone who came out for the unveiling of this art box project, which has been in development for many months and which represents the great partnership between SUN and UNC, @sjsu, and @cityofsanjose! Special thanks to artist Eric Vasquez @create.flow_ for his hard work fabricating this meaningful piece. Eric shared how he was inspired from the Victory Salute statues at SJSU and how the botanical imagery represents our growth as people, inspired by gardens around campus. Thanks to @sjsuprezmatson for being with us on this early morning to share in our love of public art 🎨 Many thanks to UNC for acquiring the BeautifySJ grant used to fund this project, and to Cherri Lakey for backend logistical support. If you didn’t get a chance to come out this morning, please visit the mural soon located on the border of SJSU and SUN on 7th St & San Salvador 🌞
